Journal, The Tennessean, and other Tennessee newspapers. This archive includes full-text articles
from 1999 to present for the DNJ and Tennessean, including news, sports, and obituaries in an easy-to-search database. Also includes access to America's News Magazines, a collection of news, business, lifestyle, sports, and entertainment magazines. Ancestry Library Edition (formerly Ancestry Plus) is a comprehensive online source of information for conducting genealogical research.
It includes searchable images of U.S. federal census records, the Social
Security Death Index, and a variety of vital, church, court, and immigration
records. This database is for in-library use only.
HeritageQuest Online
combines digital, searchable images of
U.S. federal census records with
the digitized version of the popular UMI Genealogy & Local History collection
and other valuable content. LPLS is offering a trial of this service through
May 30, 2008. The password is "welcome." HeritageQuest is available for use
both in-library and outside the library. We are considering a subscription
for HeritageQuest as a replacement for Ancestry Library Edition to expand the
access to online genealogical information for our library patrons. Please

 Auto Repair Reference Center is a database including automotive repair information supplied by Point 5 Technologies, Inc. The Auto Repair Reference Center contains information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for most vintage makes starting as far back as 1945, factory drawings, step-by-step photographs, and wiring diagrams. Points of View Reference Center is
a full-text database for students that offers a series of essays presenting
multiple sides of current issues and controversial topics. The database provides
200 topics, each with an overview (objective background/ description), point
(argument) and counterpoint (opposing argument). The database contains a balance
of materials from all viewpoints, including hundreds of essays; articles from
leading magazines, newspapers, and other media; primary source documents; and
reference books. This database also includes the Video Encyclopedia of the 20th

ReferenceUSA contains detailed
information on more than 14 million US businesses and 210 million US residents.
You can search the residential database for addresses, phone numbers, and census
information (including neighborhood median household income and median home
value). Search the business database for detailed information including address

rankings, parent companies, and more. To access from outside the library, you

 The Rosetta Stone's Language Learning Center is an immersion-based method for learning other languages. This self-paced, interactive program features visual imagery, listening, speaking, and reading, with exercises on vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Languages available include English, Spanish (Latin American and European), German, French, Italian, Russian, and Greek. Rosetta Stone requires Microsoft Windows 2000/XP or Mac OS X and the Shockwave plug-in for your Web browser; for more information, please read the System Requirements.
