Classes at Linebaugh Library Linebaugh Library will offer the following free computer classes. All classes are on a first come, first served basis. There is a limit of 24 per class, and a sign-up sheet will be posted one hour before class. There are 16 computers located in the lab. Students are welcome to bring laptops; wireless Internet access is available. For more information, please call 893-4131.
Linebaugh Library is also offering a series of classes in partnership with United Way's Project PASS (Preparing Adults for Self-Sufficiency). These classes will include instruction on basic computer, resume creation, Internet and job searching, and interview skills. These classes are open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Also covered are spelling and grammar, page formatting, macros and using the wizard to publish Word documents to the Web. The first class will cover the personal computer basics, from antivirus/antispyware options, securing your data on portable storage devices, to protecting your information when getting rid of an old computer. The second in the series will focus on networking security. You will learn about wireless security, free Internet filtering to protect your kids, and other tricks for being safe on the Internet.
