Smyrna
Library will offer the following free computer classes.
All classes are on a first come,
first served basis. There is a limit of 6 per class, and a sign-up sheet will be
posted 1 hour before class. There are 6 computers located in the lab.

Computer Basics
This class will introduce users to the various parts of the computer, including
the keyboard and mouse, and the Windows environment. Designed for people with no
or very little computer experience.

Introduction to the Internet
This is an introduction to using the Internet efficiently and safely. Topics
covered include what the Internet is, how to use Internet Explorer, and how to
search the Internet, plus an overview on how to keep your computer safe while
going online.

Introduction to Microsoft Word
This class introduces the main components of Word, including how to change /
format text, working with files, page formatting, tables, and more.

May 7, 10 a.m. - noon
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
This class will introduce users to the main
components of Excel. It will cover spreadsheet basics, menus and toolbars,
worksheet modification, formatting cells, and formulas and functions.
Saturday, May 8, 1-3 p.m.
Advanced Excel
Continuation of the Introduction of Microsoft Excel class. Includes review of
basic skills and progression to additional advanced skills.

Introduction to PowerPoint
Learn the basics of creating a slide show presentation. Topics covered
include using the AutoContent Wizard, working with slides, adding content,
working with text, color schemes, utilization of graphics, slide effects, and
presentation tips and techniques.
