Public Story Hour
Spring story time sessions will continue through May 15. Advance registration is required. Please choose one of the following:
 2-year-olds - Tuesdays at 9 or 10 a.m.
 3-year-olds - Wednesdays at 10 or 11 a.m.
 age 4 and up - Thursdays at 10 or 11 a.m.

Registration for Summer Story Time will begin on May 19. You must register in person in the Youth Services Department. Please choose a four-week session in June or a four-week session in July:
 2-year-olds - Tuesdays at 9 or 10 a.m.
 3-year-olds - Wednesdays at 10 or 11 a.m.
 age 4 and up - Thursdays at 10 or 11 a.m.

The Linebaugh Library Youth Services Department needs great student volunteers, ages 12 to 18, to help with the Summer Reading Program. Starship Adventure @ Your Library will be held in June and July. Volunteer forms are now available in Youth Services.

 

Music with Mommie
Music with MommieÔ is a high-energy, interactive music class for moms and their children (ages 5 months to 5 years) that combines hands-on fun, instruments, and props with music and movement, making each class fun for both mom and child! Join us at 10 a.m. on May 22. This is a free program, but advance registration is required. To register, call Stephanie Jones at 615-848-4039 or email her at stephaniejones@musicwithmommie.com.

Clementine book coverRead-Aloud Chapter Book Club
The Read-Aloud Chapter Book Club will not meet in January. Our meetings will resume in February. Join us as we read Clementine by Sarah Pennypacker at 4 p.m. on May 29. The program includes reading a portion of the book, a craft project, and a snack. Volunteer to read out loud, or just follow along with the group. We will provide copies of the book. Registration not required; for ages 8-11. The Read-Aloud Chapter Book Club meets on the last Thursday of every month.

Art Workshops
Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation will present a series of art workshops, to be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month, beginning in December. The workshops are for ages 8 and up (adults, too!). Advance registration is required; space is limited. A $4 activity & supplies fee is due at the time of registration. Please register in the Children's Library by the Wednesday prior to the workshop. The scheduled workshops are:

July 12: Scrapbooking - please bring photos to work with

Zine Workshop

Learn all about zines! Linebaugh Public Library will present a Zine Workshop, 1-4 p.m. on July 12. This free workshop will give teens a chance to explore their creative side through writing, drawing, or other 2-D art. During this workshop, we'll learn about zines, see some examples, talk about how to make a zine, and work together to make a collaborative zine. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have a copy of the finished zine to take home with them, and a copy will be added to the Linebaugh Library's zine collection. For ages 12-17. Russian Reading Group
Attention parents with children adopted from Russian-speaking countries: MTSU Russian Language Instructor Irina Willis will host a family reading group on the last Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. The purpose of this group is to present literature and culture from the places where your children were adopted. NOTE: The Russian Reading Group will not meet during the Summer; our next meeting will be in August.
