Smyrna Public Library

Friends of Smyrna Library

The Friends of Smyrna Library is being reorganized, and we need your help.

Our Friends group has been active for about 17 years. We provide assistance to Smyrna Library in the following ways:

  • We purchase items not included in the library budget. Recent purchases have included a laminating machine and a digital camera.

  • We make substantial donations to the Summer Reading Program and the Walter K. Hoover Winter Reading Program.

  • We are an "awareness" group, helping with public relations.

  • We provide volunteers for library functions.

  • We help with fundraising, by running an ongoing used book sale and by selling personalized pavers for the Commemorative Walkway to the left of the building.

We would like to ask your help in reorganizing our Friends group. Many of you are already involved as volunteers for our Library. If you can commit 3 to 4 hours here each month, everyone would benefit.

If you can help, please email Carol Kersey with your name and phone number, or call 615-459-4884, and we will contact you. We would like to kick off with the Summer Reading Program, which begins June 1.
